This institute come into existence in 1959 as Elementary Training School
It was upgraded to secondary Training School in 1969.
Then upgraded to District institute of Education and Training (DIET) in 1989 as per the recommendation of NPE 1986.
Broad aim to achieve quality education at elementary level through training, orientation, resource support etc.
Coverage area- This DIET covers the Revenue District of Jajpur having 10 blocks.
Populations-1826275, Area-2899 sq. km
Own building-This DIET building is situated on plot No. 2,3,4,5 & 6 of khata no. 249 having acre 05.o5 dec(20438 sq mtr.) area of Naguan revenue village, vyasanagar Tahasil of Jajpur district.
Location-This DIET is situated at a distance of 5kms from Jajpur-Keonjhar railway station/Bus stand by the side of NH 215 which runs from Panikoili and it is 103 kms away from state capital Bhubaneswar.
